In China, a baby monkey named Punch, who was abandoned by his mother shortly after birth at the Ichikawa Zoo in Japan, was raised by hand by zoo staff.

They gave him a plush orangutan toy, which he carries everywhere with him, hugs while sleeping, uses to calm himself when feeling anxious, and even takes with him when interacting with other monkeys.

In mid-January, Punch was successfully introduced to a group ot other macaque monkeys at the zoo, but he stı won’t leave his adorable friend’s side during the adjustment period.
