We went bungee jumping, pretending to be brave.
– “It’s nothing,” we said.
– “We’ve got this,” we said.
We did not have this.
The instructor gave a 20-minute safety briefing. We only heard: “don’t panic” and “if you fall…”
Bad sign.
I jumped first. I screamed so loud a nearby eagle turned around mid-flight.
My friend jumped second and swore he apologized to his entire family mid-air.
Then…
ENTER THE DOG.
Our dog, Bobi, had been ridiculously calm all day. Way too calm.
He was calculating.
When he saw us alive and shaking, he thought:
👉 “If these two survived… I am LEGENDARY.”
He strutted to the platform and stopped right at the edge.
Tourists froze.
The wind froze.
Even the instructor froze.
– “Sir,” said the instructor, “your dog… is challenging us?”
Bobi tilted his head, stuck out his tongue slightly, and took a step forward.
A lady screamed:
– “DON’T LET HIM, HE’S TOO BRAVE!”
A kid whispered:
– “This dog has more confidence than me.”
We tried to stop him:
– “Bobi, no!”
Bobi gave us the ultimate side-eye:
👉 “You’re scared. I’m not.”
Of course, nobody let him jump. Bobi sat down, sighed dramatically, and turned his back on us.
For 15 minutes, he refused to:
- look at us
- walk
- forgive us
Later, when we left, he saw a tiny rock and jumped off it (10 centimeters), landed perfectly, and looked at us like:
👉 “I did it. You didn’t.”
Since that day:
- Bobi walks like a hero
- He looks down on us
- He’s convinced HE is the real extreme sports champion
And us?
We still shake whenever we see a rope.
