Meghan Markle just posted a never-before-seen photograph of Princess Lilibet.

Meghan, 43, uploaded the shot as part of an Instagram carousel on Saturday, March 8, in honor of International Women’s Day. In the photo, her 3-year-old daughter is on a boat, facing away from the camera and held in the arms of her father, Prince Harry.

She captioned the post, “Happy International Women’s Day!” “We celebrate the strong women around us, as well as the girls with ambitions who will grow into women with vision. Also, recognizing people that inspire us every day.”

The lifestyle entrepreneur shared a black-and-white photo of herself as a kid playing with her mother, Doria Ragland, and an oceanside shot of herself and Harry, 40, smiling together in sunglasses and beachwear.

Meghan has made it a point to celebrate International Women’s Day in some way every year.

In 2024, the Duchess of Sussex participated in an SXSW panel titled “Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen.” During the panel discussion, Meghan said that when she was 11 years old, she wrote to Procter & Gamble to complain about the fact that they exclusively promoted dishwashing soap for women.

Meghan and members of her organization, the Archewell Foundation, attended a Harvest Home fundraising event in Los Angeles last year. Harvest Home provides housing, mental health support, and classes to expectant mothers who have experienced domestic violence, substance abuse, or homelessness.

The Archewell Foundation shared images from the event on their website, with the message: “Happy International Women’s Day to everyone! Whether you donate your time or money, or help a woman in your community, let us all celebrate the ladies in our lives today and every day!”

According to Vanity Fair, the Archewell Foundation previously collaborated with Moms First and the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media to support research on how moms are represented in culture.

“My previous experience as an actress, and now as a producer and mother, has solidified my belief in the critical importance of supporting women and mothers both behind and in front of the camera,” Meghan said in a statement at the time, according to the site. “This report about the portrayal of mothers in entertainment highlights the gaps we need to fill to achieve true representation in the content we create and consume, and I’m honored to support this work through the Archewell Foundation.”
