CHAPTER 113-114
COMPLETE REQUIREMENTS BEFORE 7PM TOMMOROW. LET’S GO FAST THIS WEE
★
Only the sharp flying sound of the metal weapon was heard. It never reached Seraphina.
Just as it was about to pierce into her head, Yalda caught it, bringing it down professionally.
Stunned by her sudden obstruction, Tobias’s eyes met hers darkly, angry at his failed throw.
Seraphina’s eyes opened slowly, and seeing Yalda in front of herself made her gulp a little spit.
In split second, Tobias grabbed another wasp knife, throwing it with his left hand, targeting her neck.
Jude moved this time, getting in the way and snatching the knife.
“I need a story on how this is fuckin happening,” Tobias smirked. “And it better be convincing enough, cos it’s a no-brainer that I’mma kill you both if I find nothing to hold on to!”
He faced Yalda.
“Why the fûck is Kelly in my room? Let’s start with why she’s in my house in the first place. Write me a convincing story!” He yelled.
Seraphina covered her mouth with her palm to prevent herself from shouting, cos she got an idea of what the problem is immediately.
“My…my boyfriend is… amnesiac?”
“I’m so sorry, First Lady,” Jude said beside her. “His head hit and fall was too fatal to not expect this.”
“Even if amnesia is the case, there’s no way he’d start seeing me as Kelly!” Seraphina shouted. “Anyone else but Kelly! He hates Kelly like shit! He can see me as anyone else but Kelly!” Seraphina broke down again.
“First Lady…” Jude looked full of pity for her as he tried to calm her.
“No!” She broke off bitterly. “I didn’t wait six months of torture only to get this! I didn’t miss him madly for six months only to get this! I didn’t lose sleep and concentration for six months only to get this! I want my man back, not this stranger who sees me as a betrayer ex! This isn’t my Tobias! This isn’t my sweetheart…”
“He has a brain alteration, the doctor confirmed it.” Jude informed.
“What!” Seraphina’s sight popped.
“Yes, and the doctor added that he was gonna lose certain bits of his memories or mismatch some of the memories. We just didn’t expect him to forget yours.” Jude continued.
Seraphina froze again like she was thrown into ice sea, finally letting out the tears she’s been holding.
“He…he forgot only me? …wh..hy?”
“Like you know, he’s got Fear of Abandonment. What Kelly did to him might look small, but it’s actually this serious. He doesn’t just hate Kelly, but he also still hates himself for getting attached to her, so at any little chance he gets, he’s gonna dwell on the hate. Maybe this selective amnesia is what he needs to purge it all out.” Jude explained carefully.
“It’s this deep?” Seraphina choked on her tears. “His fear of abandonment runs this deep?”
“When his parents died, I’m just hearing that he mourned them the longest among his siblings. He wore black without any other color for almost a year. He didn’t hate them cos they didn’t give him attention when they were alive. He hates them for dying and leaving him. To him, just seeing them alive as his parents was enough even if they didn’t look at him. Their death was what he hated, cos when they died, they literally abandoned him and his brothers. Maybe his FOA started from there.”
Seraphina gasped, her palm falling off her mouth.
“He has always been a sweet, sweet human. He didn’t hate them for not giving him attention, but he hates them because they abandoned him by dying?” She muttered.
“Calm down, First Lady,” Jude pacified. “He’ll come back around, trust us to try everything we can.”
Seraphina swallowed the rest of her tears, nodding.
“But I miss him badly. I want him to look at me with those wistful eyes again, give me the boyish smile and flaunt his chin dimple at me. I want him to kiss me deep again and return to his side. I want him to tell me he still loves me and that his fall didn’t alter with his affection for me. Jude… I’ll do anything… anything to…”
“It’s bit by bit, First Lady,” Jude continued. “He’s aggressive like shit. You’ve seen it in the way he threw the wasp knife at you. Don’t force him, just let’s think of something.”
Across the room, Yalda is also trying to talk to Tobias who’s not having it.
“If you wanted to kill her, you’d have used the gun instead of the wasp knife, Wrath, and that just means there’s somewhere inside you that still recognizes her.” Yalda said. “This ain’t Kelly, this is Seraphina. You call her Sera, your girlfriend, the girl you’d go any length for.”
“I have a girlfriend?” Tobias chuckled. “Do you realize how fuckin funny you sound? Mayhem is the only thing I awarded that title.”
“Immediately you took her as your girlfriend, you made Mayhem your sister.” Yalda nodded, talking as calmly as she can.
“I demoted Mayhem from girlfriend to sister?” Tobias scoffed.
“Yes, you did.” She nodded again. “That’s how deep your affection for her runs, Wrath.”
Tobias looked at Seraphina across the room, but he felt nothing. The only gnawing one is the fact that he doesn’t really wanna kill her.
Fine, he wants to hurt her and torture her cos she’s Kelly anyways, but no part of him is telling him to kill her right now, and that’s weird.
“No way,” he maintained his death stare at her. “No. Fuckin. Way.”
“You remember killing Migos,” Yalda said carefully again.
“I killed that motherfucker by digging out his heart cos he….” Tobias stopped, trying to remember exactly why he killed Migos.
He got nothing. That part of his memory is blank.
He looked up.
“You killed him because he tried to make you hate Seraphina with a half video.” Yalda said clearly.
“What!”
“Yes, and you remember being on top of a cliff?” Yalda asked.
“With Vince,” he replied. “I had a hand-to-hand fight tight him, then we ended up on top of a cliff and…”
He stopped talking.
“Why were we fighting in the first place?” He asked.
Yalda tilted her head.
“See? You need these pieces of memories to come back together, Wrath. You’re suffering from amnesia right now, and we need to work on getting your lost memories back.”
Slowly, Tobias sat back in bed, staring hard into space.
From across the room, Seraphina tried to move, but Jude pulled her back. “No.”
“I won’t do anything silly, ok?” She promised assuredly.
Jude let her go, and she moved forward to Tobias, making sure there’s enough space between them before she talked.
“Here,” she pointed at her neck—the obsidian eye necklace.
Tobias looked up, and the mere sight of it on her neck made his jaws grit hard his face crumpled.
“You gave it to me that day before the tragedy occurred six months ago.” Seraphina continued.
Then, she pointed at his wrist—the rare beads crocheted bracelet.
“I gave that to you, and though you hate fancy tacky stuff, you still wore it because of me. Look ..” she pointed at the beads on her dress.
“Since you fell in coma, I’ve been beading my dresses with the same rare beads just to feel your presence whenever I’m not here. Also, for the past six months, I’ve been spending my nights here beside you, sleeping on your chest and chanting for you to come back, always….”
She smiled slightly, sighing.
“I’m not going to force you to remember anything. I waited six months, I can wait more, but please…. there’s only a little time I can wait for before losing my mind completely.”
Tobias didn’t even look at her as she talked, but she’s sure he’s listening.
She stared at his head for as long as she could before leaving the room.
Tobias finally looked up, and his eyes followed her out of the room.
With Jude and Yalda remaining with him, he stayed quiet, but it’s obvious he’s so deep in thoughts as he’s repeatedly tapping his feet against his sleek bedroom slippers.
Jude and Yalda exchanged glances.
“By the way, there’s news about Vince, but we’ll let you process the news you just got about your girlfriend.” Jude said.
Then, he left with Yalda.
—
Outside, Odds didn’t let Seraphina just go like that.
As she walked past their center, their words followed her.
“He’ll be back sooner than you expect, First Lady.”
“We’ll try all our best to bring back the Wrath we all want, First Lady.”
“We got you, completely.”
“You don’t have to worry.”
“It’s you or no one.”
Their words are definitely soothing, it should calm her, but it’s not hitting as it should, cos she doesn’t even know what to think or do.
She told him she’d wait till whenever he’d regain memories, but she’s not sure anymore, not after she saw his face and couldn’t even receive a warm hug from him.
She was sniffling as she walked out, only to meet Estelle by the main entrance.
“I expected Wrath’s memory stuff, but I didn’t expect the seeing you as Kelly part. I’m so sorry, First Lady.” She genuinely said.
Seraphina nodded.
“But take it easy!” Estelle quickly added. “He’s strong, he’s not some lazer, so I’m sure he’ll be curious about the missing pieces too.”
“Thank you, Estelle.” Seraphina nodded a bit.
Then, she went to her car at that park and got inside.
She picked a cigar—his metal box cigar brand. She promised herself she’d quit this smoking habit, but she’s not so sure now.
She took a long puff of smoke, resting her head against the steering.
She’s not leaving this place.
Even if it takes months before his memories return.
She’s gonna rot here.
—
[Next Day – Hospital – Saint’s Ward]
Saint was the first to wake up.
He woke up a week ago, but he’s still in the hospital, resting according to the doctor’s instructions.
Not like he wanted to follow instructions. He’s never been the type, but with Seraphina keeping this hospital on a leash, he has no choice but stay. Seraphina is strict.
She’s very strict with his well-being and he’s getting used to it.
They say one would surely enjoy goodies if your brother’s girl is a pretty baddie. It’s definitely true.
He’d do anything for that lady. Especially now that it’s been confirmed she’s not like Kelly.
He’s in bed now, eating from a bowl of pasta while a nurse caressed his shoulders carefully.
His phone has been buzzing nonstop with get well soon messages from Asphalt Kings. Of course they miss their craziest racer.
But without Seraphina’s go ahead, he’s not resuming races.
He’s not even leaving this hospital.
“I need more raw onions,” he told the nurse behind him.
“But the doctor said it’s not a good diet for your recovery, that’s why we limited raw food for you.”
“Then can I get carrots?” Saint looked up with puppy eyes.
“Mr SS, I can’t give you that. Miss Seraphina warned me. I give you, I lose my job, but you can get apples, plum or tangerines.” The nurse said.
“No, thanks…” Saint hissed.
“But there’s a good news though,” the nurse came to his front.
Saint blinked.
“Your brother might be awake. I saw when Miss Seraphina ran out earlier with so much joy on her face. What other news would give her that expression?.”
“The fûck?” Saint dropped his food bowl. “Toby is up?”
The nurse nodded.
“Tell the doctor! I need a discharge like now! What do you mean my avatar is awake and I’m here!”
“I’ll inform the doctor maybe we can let you out for an hour.” The nurse smiled, going for the door.
At the door, she turned back.
“Mr. SS, there’s someone at the door for you. He’s been there for few hours now. Miss Bexley Hart .”
Saint just took his food bowl and resumed eating without replying.
Taking that as a no, the nurse left the ward, and as she walked past Bexley, Bexley fought back her tears.
She has been standing here for four hours now, but it still doesn’t look like he wants to see her.
She doesn’t even want to step Allison’s ward cos she’s not ready to face her anger yet.
—
[Allison’s Ward]
Peach is also here now, together with her father.
While Peach sat on a stool and watched their chats, Acosta sat in bed with Allison.
He held a plate of carefully cooked noodles which he’s feeding her cos she can’t eat more solidly yet.
“Are you enjoying it?” Acosta asked with his intact smile.
He hasn’t stopped smiled since he entered this ward yesterday.
“I’ve almost finished it, Acosta,” she blinked at him. “If I’m not enjoying it, I wouldn’t keep taking it.”
He fed her another forkful, and she took it happily.
“Can you keep giving me the gists as I eat? I hate eating in silence.” She said suddenly, holding his wrist.
“I didn’t want to ruin your mood.” He significantly said.
Her brows pulled. “What do you mean?”
“My grandparents got arrested,” Peach talked from where she sat.
“Of course, princess, it’s normal they got arrested cos their bad deeds got exposed….” Allison shrugged.
“Aunt Seraphina was a triplet. There was Samantha and Sander, but they were killed by grandparents to enter the dark club.” Peach dropped the bomb without waiting.
Allison choked on her noodles immediately, coughing violently as some of it came out of her nose.
“Careful!” Acosta quickly passed her the water which she gulped fast.
She wiped her nose with tissues and blinked multiple times as if trying to dissolve the news.
“Triplets? What the fûck did you just say? Like what the… actual…”
“Seraphina was unconscious for a week after she heard the news, but thanks to Tobias’s cult who took care of her. You weren’t conscious to console her, and Tobias wasn’t conscious too. It was hard to console her, Allison. She cried for weeks like a widow and lost so much flesh, I’m sure you’d have noticed her weightloss, we thought we’d lose her.” Acosta explained.
“What!” Allison’s eyes widened again. “Tobias is… unconscious?”
“The stuff with Vince made him fall off the cliff, but he fell in coma after he was found. My constructors finished working on her building since three months ago, but she refused to open, saying she wouldn’t do that without the presence of you and Tobias, so she’s still in her rented building. She only began regaining her spark few weeks ago when the doctor confirmed that you and Tobias would be waking soon.” Acosta continued.
“Gawdd..” Allison fought back her tears, losing appetite. “Fûck,”
“The little bones of Samantha and Sander was dug out of the estate building foundation, and they’ve been buried in the Graves Memorial Estates.” Peach added.
“Geez…” Allison buried her face in Acosta’s chest. “I can’t believe she lived through all of these without me…I can’t believe I let my first born go through everything alone.”
“It’s not your fault, Allison,” he stroked her hair gently.
“She has left since yesterday by the way, she should be back now.” Allison pulled away gently too.
As if planned, her phone rang beside her. It’s Phina calling.
She quickly swiped up.
“Babe!” She gasped. “Where did you run to like that? You—”
“Tobias is awake,” Seraphina announced with a cracked voice. “His memories of me is gone, and now he’s seeing me as Kelly…”
“What!” Allison stood from the bed despite the pain on her chest.
“Allison, you can’t stand up yet!” Acosta quickly pressed her to the bed, but she stood again.
“See you as Kelly? That smelly, rotten, disgusting pig? Kelly? He’s seeing you as … Kelly!???” She shouted.
Seraphina sniffled.
“I thought I’d be able to take it at first, but now … I don’t know anymore. I don’t fuckin know what to do, Allison. I bravely waited six months, but now I…I…can…t…”
“No!” Allison cut in. “What you will not do is stammer! Where are you?”
“At his Oddsion, in my car, I can’t even leave.” She sniffled.
Allison hung up immediately.
“Drive me to his Oddsion, I’m sure you know where.” She raised her chin.
“What!” His eyes dilated. “You’re advised to not stand or talk too much yet. You still feel pains from your chest too, but you’re going to—”
“I’ll drive myself!” Allison cut in and rushed out of the ward, still holding her chest tight.
“Allison!” Acosta ran after her.
At the hallway, Allison nearly bumped into Saint.
Saint came out of his own ward to take a stroll cos the doctor refused to discharge him still.
Seeing Allison, his face brightened.
“You’re SarahNina’s friend!”
“Did you hear that your brother is awake but he lost his memories of Seraphina? Now he’s seeing her as that bitch Kelly?” Allison fumed.
“What!!?” Saint gasped.
—
[A Doctor’s Office]
Dean looked exhausted as he sat behind the doctor’s desk, awaiting the doctor’s entry.
He’s been here for a minute now, and the way he’s tapping his fingers on the desk shows his impatience.
He came for the test again, for he’s hoping for a different result this time.
When the doctor finally entered, Dean stood fast.
“How’s it, doctor?”
The doctor sat, spreading the test results on the desk.
“Fourth test in two months, Mr. St. Graves, I think you should stop now and start looking for your cure.”
Dean’s face fell flat very fast.
“You mean…I’m still…”
“Yeah, your sperm is still infertile, Mr. St. Graves. You can’t impregnate a woman.” The doctor confirmed.
—
[A Waterside House]
The house is calm and hidden carefully with the palm fronds surrounding it and shielding it from the large waters.
From the front, it looks unoccupied, but that’s what the occupants want people to believe.
Inside the house, Vince sat on a tall chair, holding a phone to his ear.
Obviously, he’s trying a line, but whoever he’s calling isn’t picking.
She more it rang, the more aggravated he becomes.
His left hand is on his knee, cupping it tightly, painfully.
With difficulty, he lowered his phone from his ear.
“Are you trying your father’s line again?” Someone asked from behind.
“He’s intentionally ignoring me,” Vince looked up, then he looked back at the person.
Tino.
Tino stood behind him with a little knowing smile.
“Guess you have to visit him then. We need him for this plan to work.” Tino suggested.
“For someone who ruined your club by publicizing the sins files, you think he’ll be willing to help?” Another voice said as another person joined the room.
Vince and Tino turned to have a look at her.
Kelly, with her arms crossed.
“If he won’t help with this plan to atone for his sins, I’m killing him.” Vince declared flatly.
—
[Tobias’s Oddsion]
It’s 7am, and Seraphina is still inside her car at the Oddsion park.
Now, she’s not only smoking but drinking from a bottle of scotch. She has been drinking that one bottle since last night, and now it’s in half, but that much was enough to get her tipsy. She smoked through her tipsiness, looking crazy.
She leaned down on her backrest, sniffling, smoking, grieving.
She’s still holding her phone. She has been holding it since she ended the call with Allison.
Now, her thumb hovered above Tobias’s number.
She didn’t think before clicking. She typed a message.
“I know I said I was ok with whenever you’d come around, but I can’t help it… I miss you so bad it’s eating ravenously at my essence.”
Her trembling thumb felt gummy on the warm icon as she clicked SEND.
His response came immediately, shattering her to pieces.
Love of My Fuckin’ Life: Boring, are you one of the escorts from last night?
The phone fell from her, and her tipsiness flew off too.
Escorts?
He brought prostitutes into this place last night and she didn’t know?
How? Why would he…
What’s going…
She got down from her car with jumbled thoughts, and at the same time, Grimm came to the park.
“Grimm!” She quickly knelt beside the dog, stroking it’s head. “Is there a back gate in this place?”
The dog replied by sticking it’s tongue out immediately.
Seraphina gasped.
“There’s really a back gate?”
The dog stuck it’s tongue again.
“Did Tobias bring escorts to this Oddsion last night through the back gate? I mean… prostitutes…”
Again, the dog stuck out it’s tongue.
Seraphina’s throat locked immediately. She couldn’t breath, couldn’t swallow saliva or feel her ears and the mouth.
She felt dead.
Her hand slipped away from the dog’s head. She took the scotch bottle and drained the rest of it till it leaked out of her mouth to her chest.
The bottle fell from her, crashing and hurting her bare feet.
She bleed from the toes, eyes turning as she wiped her lips with the back back of her palm.
Allison’s car drove into the Oddsion compound immediately, and they didn’t even get to the park before she got out fast. Acosta came with her. He carried her drip bag since she’s still on the drip and it can’t be cut.
Saint came out of the car backseat too
“Lis?…” Seraphina pointed drunkenly, cackling. “Saint?” She pointed at him too, turning on her bloody barefoot. “Acosta?” She grinned.
“Babe!” Allison rushed to her, holding her red face. “Fûck, you’re drunk, but I’m here now, I’m—”
“Mama, he…. he…” Seraphina stuttered weakly, eyes squeezing as she pointed at the huge building. “He…brought escorts in through the…..the back gate last…. last night.”
“Es what???” Saint and Allison chorused with wide eyes.
Seraphina nodded, eyes rolling in their sockets.
“Fine,” Saint ragingly removed his belt from his pants hoops. “I’ll warm up a little bit …”
Allison began removing Acosta’s belt too, fast.
“Allison!” He shouted.
“I need it!” She snapped as she pulled his belt out, and she topped it up by removing her drip too.
“Fûck! Allison no!” Acosta shouted again, mind spinning.
Allison exchanged glances with Saint, and they both ran into the Oddsion together, belts in hand.
The Odds didn’t even stop their entrance. They saw Saint anyways, and they know Allison’s identity.
So they moved like the wind, running inside like thieves, going for just one thing….the escorts.
And they didn’t run for long. Immediately they came down the second lift and met themselves inside the kitchen, they stopped.
The kitchen is packed with the escorts. Female prostitutes who’re cooking and cleaning and dancing half-naked, slutty, carefree.
“Bloody fuckin sluts!!” Allison’s anger boiled violently.
“These dumb bitches!” Saint added.
They moved again, steps synchronized till they entered the kitchen completely.
They raised their belts at the same time too. The leathers landed on the skins of the first two bitches…
Bang!
The hit was cruel, and the ringtone of the bitches followed.
